VISITING ASSISTANT PROFESSOR OF ANTHROPOLOGY
Union College (Schenectady, New York) seeks applicants for a one-year visiting position at the assistant professor level. We seek socio-cultural candidates who can teach courses on environmental anthropology and who would also be able to offer courses in some of the following areas: indigeneity, environmental justice, economic anthropology, Science and Technology Studies, Religion and Environmentalism, anthropology of food, and global health. In terms of geographic expertise we are interested in someone who works in Sub Saharan Africa, the Caribbean, Southeast Asia or amongst indigenous people of Oceania or the Americas. But we will consider other areas not currently represented by faculty in the department. Candidates with Ph.D. in hand and teaching experience are preferred, but these qualifications are not required. The successful candidate will teach six courses over three ten-week trimesters.
The Department prides itself on strong teaching and on building relationships with students. Department members are also active scholars who support each other’s scholarship and who value the integration of research and teaching. Anthropology at Union contributes to many interdisciplinary programs and to the Complex Questions general education curriculum that focuses on global challenges and on social justice. Compensation
The annual salary range for this position is $67,000 - $69,000. Except for roles with a set rate of pay, the wage/salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The stated hiring rate/range represents the College’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the rate/range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

Job Summary | The School of Architecture at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, NY seeks a candidate with expertise in Architectural Lighting Design at the Assistant Professor level (on tenure-track) or Associate Professor level (with tenure) who will teach Lighting courses as part of the Graduate Lighting, Bachelor of Architecture, and Master of Architecture degree programs. To be considered as an Associate Professor with tenure, candidates must also possess an established national or international reputation and track record in the area of architectural lighting, and have a portfolio of related design, scholarly research, and/or publications in nationally recognized books, journals, and conferences. Job Summary | The Department of Materials Science and Engineering (MSE) at RENSSELAER POLYTECHNIC INSTITUTE in Troy, NY, invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant or tenured Associate Professor position in Materials Science and Engineering with expertise and potential in the broad area of bulk/thin film metallic materials. Example research foci and applications include nanoelectronics device wiring, packaging and integration, energy generation (e.g., nuclear, thermoelectric, wind, solar) and storage (e.g., batteries, supercapacitors), light-weight high-strength structures, alloy design, microstructure development, additive manufacturing, and environmental degradation. We will also consider exceptional candidates from other related areas. Candidates must possess a Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering or a related field. Lecturer of Biomedical Engineering Position at Union College
The Department of Electrical, Computer and Biomedical Engineering at Union College invites applications for a Lecturer of Biomedical Engineering position, beginning Fall 2024. The position is renewable with a contract period of three years. After six years of employment at Union, Lecturers are eligible for promotion to Senior Lecturer with the possibility of contract lengths up to five years. A Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering or a closely related field is required. Candidates expecting to complete their doctoral thesis before September 2024 are also welcome to apply. We seek an individual who demonstrates a strong commitment to student-centered undergraduate education, including those with a professional interest in pedagogy. Service duties will include coordinating the Summer Clinical Immersion Program with our local partners, advising our Biomedical Engineering Society student chapter, and coordinating the biomedical engineering seminar series. Although research is not an expectation of this position, the successful candidate will have the option to continue scholarly activity and will have access to College funds and a wide array of advanced instrumentation and facilities. Excellent candidates in all areas of Biomedical Engineering will be considered, but preference will be given to candidates with expertise in biomechanics, biomaterials, and rehabilitation engineering.
